Lutheran Braille Workers (LBW):
Risen Christ is one of the 194 centers for Lutheran Braille Workers. Lutheran Braille Workers provides Christian materials in braille and specialized large print throughout the world. Volunteers and donations are always appreciated.
Community Food Distributions:
Worshipers of Risen Christ fill shoppings bags with nonperishable food items on the first Sunday of every month. These “bags of blessings” are brought to the altar and then distributed to the North Strand Helping Hands. The North Strand Helping Hands is an emergency aid organization which helps those in need in our community.
Each month teams join the local Meals on Wheels and Senior Meals Programs to distribute meals to the elderly, terminally ill, disabled, and any other homebound citizen. LWML (Lutheran Women’s Missionary League):
Active local chapter of this national Lutheran organization promoting mission work around the world. The LWML group of women meet monthly, as well as, participate in regional and national conferences. For information about the national LWML click here.
Mid Week Bible Class:
Join us on Wednesday mornings during the months of September through May at 10 am to journey through scripture. For more information all the church office at 843-272-5845.
This group of volunteer men meets every Thursday morning to provide landscaping services and light duty maintainence to the buildings on our campus. Any able-bodied interested person is welcomed to join this group. For mor information, call the church office at 843-272-5845.
This Social Ministry group runs our Community Thrift Store. 90% of the proceeds are used to help community benevolent work; such as, the Coastal Carolina Chapter of the American Red Cross, the North Strand Helping Hands, the Street Reach Ministry of Myrtle Beach, Risen Christ Lutheran School Scholarship Fund, and others. Hours of operation are: Wednesday mornings 9am – noon and alternate Saturday mornings 8 am – noon. Cash donations and items including clothing, small appliances, paperback books, golf clubs, etc. for this ministry may be made during hours of operation.
Small Group Bible Study:
Various opportunities to study God’s word is available to those interested to offer encouragement, support, faith and relationship building within our community. For more information, please call the church office at 843-272-5845.
Our Stephen Ministry program equips lay persons to provide distinctively Christian, one-to-one care to anyone in our congregation or community who is going through a difficult time and in need of support from a Christian friend.
