Our History

Risen Christ was established in 1976 by a group of local Lutherans.  They immediately identified themselves as a mission outpost, establishing a Christian Day School during the first year of the church’s formation.  The school continues to be seen as a support to churched Christian families on the Grand Strand as they raise their children.  School children and families without a church home are invited to become a part of  Risen Christ Lutheran Church.  In addition to the Lutheran community, the congregation serves – the many visitors of all denominations who vacation on the Grand Strand, and those who have wandered from the Lord who now seek to come home.  Certainly anyone seeking a Biblical and personal relationship with Christ and His people are welcome.
