Risen Christ Lutheran School has adopted a school uniform policy for the purpose of promoting a positive effect on our school climate. Uniform policies have long been used in various schools to project an atmosphere of uniformity, pride, loyalty, and equality among the student population. We feel that this uniform policy enhances school spirit and pride, presents a positive school image to the community, promotes student
achievement, and creates an orderly learning environment.
The guidelines as outlined below are intended to help parents make appropriate selections of school clothes and accessories. Parents and students share the responsibility of following the guidelines of the Uniform Policy.
A uniform closet where used uniforms can be borrowed or purchased will be established and maintained for those who may need this service. Families are encouraged to help other families by donating outgrown uniforms, which are still in good condition.
Students new to Risen Christ Lutheran School after Labor Day will be allowed a grace period often ‘school days to comply with the School Uniform Policy. Parents or legal guardians who object to the policy base on religious or other grounds must present to the Principal a signed letter detailing the reason for the objection. The parent or legal guardian and the Principal will meet to discuss the exemption.
Daily violations of the Uniform Policy will be handled by the classroom teacher. Repeat violations will be referred to the office. Students/parents may be asked to supply the appropriate clothing before the student is allowed to return to class,
